Experiencing the Beauty of an Evening Stroll

Experiencing the Beauty of an Evening Stroll: Capturing the Moment with Your Camera

There's just something magical and calming about an evening stroll. As the sun starts to set and the sky turns into a beautiful blend of hues, the world seems to slow down and everything around you looks different. The way the light plays with the shadows, nature's colours blending into each other, even the sound of rustling leaves start to feel serene.

One way to capture the beauty that surrounds you during an evening stroll is by having your camera with you. Photography allows you to freeze a moment in time and to revisit it whenever you want to, but it also forces you to observe the world more closely. Whether you are an amateur or a professional photographer, taking your camera with you on an evening walk can inspire you to see things in a different way.

Walking at night gives you a unique opportunity to observe things that you never noticed during the day, such as the way the streetlights change the colours and the atmosphere of the buildings and plants. You can experiment with different settings on your camera, such as aperture and shutter speed, to capture different types of images. You can use a tripod to take long exposures, allowing you to capture the movement of the stars or of the cars whizzing by.

Experiencing the Magic of a Full Moon

The sight of a full moon illuminating the night sky has captivated humans for centuries. There's something undeniably enchanting about witnessing this celestial phenomenon, as the moon's illuminated face becomes a beacon of light amidst the darkness. The ethereal glow, serene ambience, and mysterious allure of a full moon have inspired countless tales, traditions, and even scientific studies. In this article, we will delve into the unique experience of witnessing a full moon and explore the various cultural, spiritual, and scientific perspectives associated with it.

Cultures across the globe have long held deep reverence for the full moon. Many ancient civilizations viewed it as a symbol of transformation, marking significant events such as the changing of seasons or the completion of a lunar cycle. It often played a crucial role in religious and spiritual practices, believed to possess potent energies that influenced human behaviour and emotions. From the mystical beliefs of ancient Egyptians to the mythical legends of werewolves, the full moon has consistently held a prominent place in folklore and storytelling.

Spiritually, the full moon is associated with a time of heightened intuition, emotional energy, and spiritual growth. Many individuals believe that the moon's energy can amplify their intentions and facilitate self-reflection, making it an ideal time for meditation, manifestation, or engaging in healing rituals. Some people even participate in moon rituals, where they gather under the moonlit night to express gratitude, release negativity, or set new intentions. Whether grounded in ancient practices or contemporary spirituality, the full moon holds a special significance for those seeking a deeper connection with themselves and the universe.

From a scientific perspective, the full moon continues to intrigue researchers and stargazers alike. Its gravitational pull, along with other celestial bodies like the sun and Earth, affects tides and oceanic currents. In fact, the word "lunatic" derives from the belief that the moon's influence can disrupt human mental stability. While no substantial scientific evidence supports such claims, studies have explored potential links between the lunar cycle and human behaviour, sleep patterns, and mood changes. Though inconclusive, these investigations highlight the moon's enduring ability to spark curiosity and inspire scientific inquiry.

Aside from its cultural and scientific implications, there is something inherently peaceful and tranquil about basking in the glow of a full moon. Whether taking a leisurely stroll under the moonlit sky, gathered around a bonfire with loved ones, or simply gazing out a window, the mesmerizing sight of a full moon evokes a sense of awe and wonder. Its radiance has a way of soothing the mind and uplifting the spirit, reminding us of the vastness and beauty of the universe we are a part of.

In conclusion, experiencing a full moon is a breathtaking encounter that bridges the gap between the physical and metaphysical realms. It holds a special place in our collective consciousness, inspiring curiosity, spirituality, and a deep connection with the world around us. So, the next time a full moon graces the night sky, take a moment to immerse yourself in its mystical glow and let the magic unfold.

Cool Hot Rod Spotted in Okotoks

If you're a fan of unique cars and home made street rods, you might want to keep an eye out for a funky and cool looking hot rod that we spotted in Okotoks, Alberta. This Hot Rod is a showstopper, with its eye-catching unique design. Gotta say it is very unusual.

Hot rods have been a part of American car culture since the 1940s, and their popularity continues to this day. These custom-built cars are known for their high-performance engines, modified bodywork, and unique style. Hot rod enthusiasts spend hours tinkering with their cars, customizing every detail to make them stand out from the crowd. But this distinctively different auto forms its' own category, I'm sure the fellow has reason for what he has done with this car.

This car that was spotted in Okotoks is a prime example of what I think is someone just going out and having fun. We don't know about the engine or what his future plans are but hey, it's our first time seeing the one we have posted about here.

What makes this hot rod truly unique is the use of the license plates, now that's a good touch. What do you call those long chrome pipes, exhaust pipes, do you think they came from an 18 wheeler? There is presently no hood on the engine, there's an extra pipe coming out the back, you may not be able to make that out all that well in the picture here. We had to get our cameras out fast so this is the best image we got. When driving down the street, it's impossible not to take notice of this funky and cool-looking hot rod.

Whether you're a car enthusiast or just appreciate something different, the hot rod spotted in Okotoks is a must-see. So keep your eyes peeled, and you just might spot this definitely 'one-of-a-kind' hot rod cruising down the streets of Alberta.

As far as we go, this is all in fun and certainly not meant as an insult to any Hot Rod enthusiasts, just good clean fun! You can think of it this way, think of it as a story, perhaps that is all he can afford and he wanted it to be unique, a real eye catcher, I think he succeeded very well.  Btw, follow the link by clicking on the picture to see our post on TikTok. Thanks for watching!

Okotoks in the Fall View

Here I took something simple and I am very pleased with the way this photograph turned out. This is Okotoks Alberta when you are on the upper, south side of the Sheep River on the walking path looking down across the river. If you catch the views at the right time it can turn out pretty good.

I have found that we, KassDays do enjoy videography and we also enjoy just taking simple photographs of things, animals, people and so on that we think are unique or beautiful in one way or another.

Here we have an example mostly of grass that is still standing in the fall that makes the picture all that much better. You look up the picture and you see the sun is changing the colours of that section of the sky, when you blend them all together it can be very beautiful.

Halloween We Call Home

As Halloween draws near, it's time to start planning spooky and fun-filled activities that you can enjoy at home with your family. There are countless ways to celebrate Halloween without leaving your home. Let's explore some ideas that’ll make your Halloween a memorable one!

First off, get dressed up in your favourite Halloween costumes, whether it's spooky, silly, or a mix of the two. Dress up as a classic witch or vampire, create your own costume with DIY materials, or opt for a fun family costume theme. Don't forget to share your amazing looks with your friends and family on social media!

Next, get your family involved in some Halloween-inspired activities. You can have a pumpkin-carving competition, decorate your house with spooky decorations, or play "mummy-wrap" using toilet paper. For a more competitive activity, try having a Halloween scavenger hunt, and search for hidden treats around your house.

Moreover, Halloween won't be complete without some spooky treats. Whip up some delicious Halloween recipes such as caramel apples, spider cupcakes, or Halloween-themed cookies. These recipes are not only fun to make but also delicious for the whole family to enjoy.

Finally, bring out the thriller movies. Grab some blankets, turn off the lights, and cuddle up on the couch for some scary movie time. Don't forget to include a classic Halloween movie like Hocus Pocus or The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Overall, Halloween at home with family can be just as fun as going out trick-or-treating, if not better! With these ideas, you can create lasting memories with your loved ones and celebrate the Halloween season.

Vulcan Alberta Demolition Derby

I hadn't been to a Demolition Derby in years and Kass had never been to one before, it was a whole new experience for him, and he did enjoy it. If you have sensitive ears, we would recommend bring some headphones or something similar. It gets nice and loud, the cars for the most part are quite the rattle traps, but that's what they are supposed to be, it's all for great fun. It certainly was a clear sky hot day, but they had snacks and cold drinks for you to purchase. If you missed it this year, you really need to get out to see it next time.

Moonlight in Southern Alberta

We are in Okotoks Alberta, which is in Southern Alberta, in case you did not know that already. We are a pair that likes to be out and about to see some of the great events that take place outside, even if it is simply an image of the Moon.

Having said that, is there a Man on the Moon, I remember when I was a child I would look at the Moon and imagine there was a Man on the Moon and he was always looking down at us, would that be down, or, over at, or up? I looked it up, The moon can be either up or down in reference to the earth, all depends on what point of the earth you are looking from. To find more info an that, please check here.

We do have a full length video coming on on some of our images of the moon, that video can be found here, KassDays Moonlight in Southern Alberta.

Fireworks on Canada Day 2023 in Okotoks Alberta

Here is a sneak peak of what we saw on Canada Day for Fireworks here in Okotoks Alberta. This is the first year we actually went out to take them in, that last few years we just saw a glimpse of them from home and that is as far as it went. It wasn't too bad, the fireworks in Okotoks are rather short though, have to admit that.

We just sat in our vehicle up until the time the fireworks were nearly ready to get going, we just went by how many people were starting to congregate and adjusted ourselves accordingly. We were even thinking this time, we took a couple of folding lawn chairs so we could sit comfortably, now that's a good plan isn't it?

We have a video coming out later today, September 1st, 2023 at approximately 4pm, you can watch them at this link after they log live; Okotoks Fireworks with KassDays

Sincerely hope you enjoy them, they are only slightly over 5 minutes long. Thank you for viewing.

Okotoks Show & Shine in Okotoks Alberta

This was the 2023 Okotoks Show and Shine that took place in Okotoks Alberta, did you make it out to the show? There was a large turnout for the Car Show, even-though the show was in a different location, I hope it is put back downtown next year personally, but we'll see how that goes I guess.

Do you attend car shows? If so, do you like the classic cars or the more modern cars, what is your preference? I like all kinds of cars, both new and old, there are just certain cars that appeal to different viewers. I think, as far as I can see, that I seem to like the more sleek and flashy kind of car, that is what I am guessing at this point, what do you think?

Summer is coming to an end, that makes me sad!

Here we are, it is nearly the end of August 2023 and summer is quickly drawing to a close, that is sad for me, not looking forward to months of snow and ice which seems to go on forever. We are showing you in this video how our plants are at this point in time, we did get quite a few tomatoes this year and the majority of our flowers did do very well and some are still thriving.

We did plant a couple of different zucchini plants and we actually got a few decent zucchini out of them, cooked them up, they were great have to say. Please do us a favour if you have some time, watch a few of our full length videos from beginning to end, we truly need to build up some watch hours on reg format videos. At some point in the near future we are going to have a promo, yes that means some giveaways for our viewers. We have ordered some items with the KassDays logo on them, this will be one of the prizes and we are thinking on what else we can do. We are going to make a YouTube video on what ideas you may have.

The Nostalgic Hotel Room in the Etzikom Museum

What do you think of this old hotel room that has been recreated to show what things looked like in the distant past? I'm not sure it looks all that comfortable to me, perhaps it's the lady in the corner that makes me a bit uneasy.

Are you old enough to remember that dreadful wallpaper? I have purchased homes that had that stuff, I worked at removing it all. This is not to say that I detest wallpaper, but I do want perhaps a more modern looking wallpaper than what was presently on the wall.

Let's think of this as well, what about that bulky suitcase, imagine lugging that knee cracker around, have to say things are designed a bit more user friendly these days. Then again, who knows what the future holds, perhaps there will be micro bags where we can shrink down our things into minuscule packages? Perhaps a bit wrinkly when all is said and done?

You just never know what the future holds do you?

Spruce Meadows Show Jumping

Aren't the horses beautiful to watch? I could sit for hours and just watch, take photos and videos of course too, but sometimes just to get lost in watching them move. I have always loved horses and being around them, I feel at one with them. Yes I did have a horse or two when I was younger and still to this day I hope I can perhaps have a couple to just hang out with, they make awesome buddies.

Please watch the video and if you like, please subscribe to our YouTube Channel @KassDays, Thank you any and all for watching what we have produced thus far.

Drumheller - We are Going Back For You!

We have been to Drumheller in the past, but it was before we had a YouTube channel, so we are going back to do it again. We will also go for a glorious hike in the Horseshoe Canyon, same as we did last time and we plan on sharing these adventures with you.

It was a very hot day the last time we went out to Drumheller, perhaps it will be a bit cooler this time. We plan on going once school is back in, so we can try to avoid some of the crowds and perhaps beat the heat as well.

Walking down into the Horseshoe Canyon was very interesting for me, had an historic feel to me, it was my feeling that there were many things that took place in that canyon years ago. Shall we say that the spirits of the canyon were attempting to tell me a story?

Hey, if you are not yet subscribed to our YouTube channel please do so, we would really like to have some great people we can form a community with. In case you didn't know, we are @KassDays (with and 's') on YouTube.

Let's check out the Dinosaurs and the Horseshoe Canyon together.

Sheep River Provincial Park in Alberta Canada

Beautiful isn't it? This is a view of the Sheep River in the Sheep River Provincial Park here in Alberta Canada. This photo was taken upstream from the Sheep River Falls, there is so much to explore in that area, haven't even begun to share the pictures that we acquired on that adventure.

If you live in Alberta you may have been to this location in the past, it's not that far from Calgary or any of the small towns that are nearby Calgary for that matter. There were a lot of people out and about, oh yeah and don't forget you need a provincial park pass if you want to stop in any of these parks or they can ticket you if they happen by.

We packed ourselves a small lunch, put on our hiking shoes and we were off for our adventure, up and down the trails, much to see and do. There were spots on the trail that were much busier than others. We did notice that most people do stay close to the busier areas, whereas we ventured much further out, even-though it was a fairly warm/hot day. Thunder rumbled a couple times but nothing more materialized.
